Engineered for Superior Aerodynamics
Aerodynamics were key in the Propero 4’s development. We conducted extensive testing in CFD and our Win Tunnel. We pulled the aerodynamic leading edge directly from the S-Works Evade 3. As a result, the Specialized Propero 4 Helmet proved to be four watts, or 15 seconds over 40km, faster than our S-Works Prevail 3. Advanced Ventilation for Optimal Cooling in this Specialized Propero 4 Helmet
Drawing inspiration from our renowned S-Works Prevail 3, our goal was to elevate ventilation, not just replicate it. Ventilation became a focal point for a well-balanced, aerodynamic helmet. We incorporated the S-Works Prevail 3’s rear-end design. Additionally, we introduced small 2mm offset micro-channels. These create turbulence in the airflow throughout the helmet. This helps create a continuous, refreshing flow of air. Large rear-end vents further increase ventilation.
Meticulous Attention to Detail & Rider Comfort
Beyond aerodynamics and ventilation, the Specialized Propero 4 Helmet showcases meticulous attention to detail. We incorporated cutting-edge technologies from our S-Works level helmets. For instance, Mips Evolve Solution provides confidence. This low-friction layer allows a sliding motion of 10 to 15mm in all directions. Studies indicate this reduces some rotational forces transmitted to the brain during angled impacts.
The Propero 4 also earned the highest 5-Star Virginia Tech® Helmet Rating. Its FS3 Fit System & Occipital Base Adjustment optimizes comfort. It personalizes the fit to your head shape. You can also adjust the helmet angle for compatibility with glasses. An adjustable Tri-Fix web splitter, combined with thin 10mm webbing, increases comfort.
