From the start, our goal wasn’t just to create another climbing wheel—we set out to deliver the lightest rear wheel in its class, with wind-cutting performance typically found in deeper rim profiles. Through more than 150 rim shape iterations using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and countless hours in the Win Tunnel, we arrived at a 32mm-deep carbon tubular rim that outperforms wheels twice its depth.

We didn’t stop at aerodynamics. By testing over 40 different carbon layup methods, we reduced weight without compromising strength. The result? A rear wheel that’s lighter, faster, and more efficient than the competition.

The Roval CLX 32 Tubular Rear is paired with our Aero Flange (AF) hub and DT Swiss Aerolite T-head spokes, delivering a stiff, responsive ride. At just 665 grams, this wheel has ultra-low inertia, making acceleration, braking, and directional changes feel effortless.

Why the wide profile? At 27.1mm external width, it improves aerodynamics, structural strength, and cornering grip, especially with wider tires. You’ll feel more stable and confident on both climbs and descents.

Every wheel includes CeramicSpeed bearings, a padded wheel bag, quick-release, tubeless plugs, valves, and SwissStop Black Prince brake pads for unmatched braking performance.
